Grateful Dad #14.24: A New Home
I'm grateful for the opportunity to embark on a new journey as I take Grateful Dad into its new home.
Hello! Welcome to my new home. I’m excited to embark on this new journey and I hope that you can join me here as well. First off, if you’re already a long-time reader of my blog, you probably know that I started this Grateful Dad series because I wanted to go back to my very core as a blogger, which is to write and share stories that are relatable to my readers.
Over the last two years though, I figured that Grateful Dad deserves its own home for better focus in terms of content. I will continue to write on my main blog though, focusing on the topics that I love – family travel, special needs parenting, and other family-friendly stories.
Now, going back to Grateful Dad, you will also notice that the series number is a continuation of my last blog post and that’s because I’m not starting all over again. With that, you can expect me to share the same personal stories in this space.
Hunt for a new home
Coincidentally, I’m currently in the process of looking for a new home for my family. We’ve been wanting to move out of my in-laws’ house for the longest time but a lot of unexpected events came along the way, hence, derailing us from our plans. I hope that we get to realize this goal this year or early next year. I foresee property prices to be ballooning soon because of new commercial establishments rising in the area. While I don’t expect the new MRT line to open within the next two years, I’m certain that when it begins its operations, property prices within our area will soar even higher.
Now, you might be asking why we’re not considering other areas in Metro Manila (or even nearby provinces). This is the most ideal place for us since it’s near my son’s school (he’s still doing regular speech and occupational therapy) and we figured that changing schools would not be the most ideal for him because that would mean new adjustments for him. Not only that, we’re already at home and used to our current routines and conveniences within this community, so this is the perfect neighborhood for us.
Surviving office stress
This year, I was given the opportunity to handle a more complex project. I’m loving the new set of challenges that it brought me. However, it also proved to be a new source of stress for me (as well as other colleagues) because of the strain and chaos the project brought to the working team. Nevertheless, we were able to iron out the misunderstandings, which eventually restored peace within the project team.
Grateful for brands who trust me
While I do admit that I’m starting to lie low when it comes to brand collaborations, I still accepted offers from brands that I’ve worked with in the past. While they are only a handful these days, I’m still thankful for the opportunities they gave me.
That’s it for me now. Again, I hope you can support me as I embark on a new journey, a new project, and a new home for Grateful Dad.
Thank you for always reading!
