Grateful Dad #14: Milk Tea & Cats
I have this weird notion that people who love milk tea and cats are some of the nicest people around. I don’t know how that idea really began, but I think it started when I saw posts from some acquaintances and fellow bloggers in my old (deactivated) Facebook account about milk tea and cats. Those posts caught my attention and it struck me that those random social media shares had one common denominator; they were from some of the nicest people I know.
Grateful Dad #14: Milk Tea & Cats
One particular fellow blogger and her partner were very vocal about their love for cats. They also post regularly about their favorite milk tea brands. On top of that, they looked like they were genuinely good people, both followers of the discipline of minimalism who looked like they loved only simple things.
I’m not particularly a fan of milk tea. However, for the reason I pointed out above, I started to gradually venture into milk tea territory. Yes, I know it sounded funny but I really did begin to consume milk tea with hopes of becoming a nicer person. I’m not a scrooge but I can really be pessimistic on a lot of occasions. I still didn’t like milk tea to be honest. Tea had a plant-like aftertaste and it just didn’t work with milk for me.
However, over the course of several years, there are select milk tea brands that I began to fall in love with because of their balanced taste.
One is Macao Imperial Milk tea which we regularly ordered via GrabFood at home. We like the Cheesecake and Pearl Milk tea because it has a good blend of salty, creamy, sweet, and bitter flavors. It’s pleasant to the palate and doesn’t leave any off-taste.
Nine Fresh Milk Tea
The other one is Nine Fresh milk tea, particularly the rich milk tea that they have on their menu. It’s milky and, again, the taste of tea is not too strong.
Both of these milk tea brands offer thirst-quenching drinks that are perfect for hot summer days. Lately, I’ve also realized that they’re great pick-me-uppers when one is not in a good mood or going through some stress.
That’s it for milk tea, but how about cats? Well, cat people have always struck me as caring and warm persons. I guess because they’re the only types of individuals who have the patience to put up with the unpredictability and demands of cats. So do I love cats? I respect cats and I’m fine with having them around as long as they leave our food alone.
Furthermore, I learned that cats have the power to drive bad elements away. If you suspect that your house has an unwelcome guest, then a cat is just what you might need to help you deal with it. Cats can also absorb negative energies, so that’s another good enough reason to have them around.
To end this post, just a quick round-up of the things that I’m grateful for lately. I’m thankful for the continued brand collaborations. I was afraid that I’d lose income because of the recent deactivation of my personal Facebook and Instagram accounts. I’m glad that there are still collaborations coming my way and I’d like to think that I’ve already established myself through professionalism and good output.
I’m thankful also that my son’s therapy classes are progressing well. He’s been on and off therapy for the last two years because of the pandemic, the changing restrictions, and the new COVID-19 viruses popping up. I hope we get to catch up and get continuous therapy this time around.
How about you, do you like milk tea and cats? Would you agree with me that people who love milk tea and cats are the nicest folks around? What are you grateful for lately? Feel free to share them in the comment section below.
