Grateful Dad #15.24: Amazing Family Lunch at Botejyu
A wonderful family lunch at Botejyu in SM City Fairview.
A few weekends ago, we decided to have our family lunch at Botejyu. Now, I’ve previously shared in my blog that our first dining experience at Botejyu was not a favorable one because of some customer service concerns. However, that was already two years ago so we figured that the staff are probably different this time. Also, we wanted to give Botejyu another chance because the food was delicious. But most importantly, they were running a promo at that time in partnership with a credit card and we thought that it was a good deal.
When we arrived at the restaurant, there were already a good number of people trying to get a seat. To avoid the long waiting time, we asked the restaurant staff if we could just sit outside and they said yes. After scanning the menu, I listed the food that we wanted to order. Apparently, to be able to take advantage of the promo, you must have a minimum order.
It was also worth noting that Botejyu’s menu now includes a kid-friendly meal; flavored rice shaped into a small child’s face (complete with eyes, nose, and mouth), crispy fried chicken, and fries served on a cute plate. For us adults, we settled for our old favorites.
When we were ready with our choices, we called the waiter and took our orders. It’s good to note that the servers are friendlier this time. Our food arrived after a fair amount of waiting time. Again, it was a different experience this time as compared to the first time we ate here because the restaurant staff who served our food was well-mannered.
Good customer service makes a big difference for any establishment. It’s a good relationship with customers that will keep them coming back to establishments. Sometimes, a poor-quality product becomes forgivable as long as the owner or seller of the product knows how to handle customer complaints well.
I also have my fair share of experiences in which I had to deal with irate people in my line of job. Going out of your way to establish a personal connection with them, such as a simple telephone call, will spell a big difference and improve their disposition.
It’s also applicable to our everyday relationships with our friends and family. Minor differences can easily be ironed out with an honest conversation and so on.
Anyway, going back to our meal at Botejyu, it was even more enjoyable to eat if you’re in a happy mood. We completely loved our meal, and our kids finished their food with much delight. In the end, it was another Saturday well spent with our kids.
In addition to our family lunch, we were also happy to be able to accomplish our other plans for the day: getting our eyes checked and buying toys (again) for the kids.
